Meet Brenda, the kind and passionate human behind Inspired By Raw.

Hello, my name is Brenda!

I am a raw diet distributor, hobby rottweiler breeder and a loyal caretaker for all of my beautiful pets. I reside on a quiet farm near Shining Bank, Alberta. I am the proud owner of dogs, cats, and horses.

Like the name Inspired By Raw suggests, the story of how I got into becoming a distributor is a personal journey with my German shepherd, Sylvina. I purchased a gorgeous red and black German shepherd from a breeder down in California. Upon purchasing her, it was recommended to me to keep Sylvina on a raw diet. At that time, I knew nothing about raw diets for dogs. There weren’t many available resources or information on where to get it, what the cost would be, etc. So I decided to put my pup on blue buffalo fish for the time being.

Sylvina eventually started to show signs of inflammation and discomfort. She started chewing her paws, and soon after, her ears started bothering her as well. It got to the point where her constant scratching and chewing caused the loss of her hair. It was time to take her to the vet, and what I learned was surprising. Sylvina had allergies! I took her off the fish and put her on beef, but her allergies were STILL getting worse. I knew I needed to get her tested to see what else she was allergic to.

She was allergic to beef, eggs, fish, cats, corn, peas, rice and more! 52 things, to be exact. Once I learned this, I adjusted her raw diet again. Her recovery was quite astonishing! Her ears and paws healed, the hair grew back, and her beautiful coat became luscious and soft again. I also started to see some major improvements in her overall health and wellness: her allergies became dormant, her teeth were sparkling clean, she had much more energy and liveliness, and her bowel movements were less smelly.

I became inspired by her healing journey, spurred on by simply tailoring a raw food diet specific to her needs. If I could raise awareness on the benefits of raw diets for our pets and make it accessible and affordable for fellow pet owners, then we could honor our pet’s natural diet by choosing fresh, nutrient-packed, raw-diet food alternatives for them.
